QUESTIONS

1. What is the main obstacle within this new to practice through parrhesia?
2. Concept
3. What is the consequence for the writter not telling the truth?
4. What can you do about it?
5. Do you think Duque is going to do everything that Uribe ask him to do?
6. Do you thin Duque is going to continue with de peace deal?

I think that this topic it is very controversial, it depends on your political view, so I will try to think in an impartial point. Yes the majority of the Colombian people thinks that Duque is going to do everything that Uribe ask him to do (in any political point, even they agree with Uribe or not, people thinks that). I think that we have to wait and see how he is going to govern Colombia. And i hope that if he is going to make corrections to the deal peace (that i hope he does), those corrections will be for the better of the victims.

  1. I think that Duque its not telling the complete truth because for me, he is going to do everything that Uribe ask him to do, like his puppet, but he is saying that no, so the other half of the country that actually “hates” Uribe, will try to like him a bit more.

  2. Is this real? Parrhesia everywhere, the politicians always use it, obligatorily. They won´t say the truth, never! Always what they want the people believe, in this case, the Colombian people. Beyond the individual political ideals, its a deal that has already been made and is working, its not so easy to say that it will change because of the victims, they deserve the truth, of course, but how about the victims who have left their election and the victims who have left the political party that he represents? We dont speak only of parrhesia when we gonna say the absolute truth, also when we omit it, since we seek a common good and to reach it we need the truth, just my humble opinion. :)

  3. What make us talk about "peace" is a conflict that once existed, and every single aspect of those factors that triggred up the conflict are valuable pieces of the puzzle that we call "peace". If its real that everybody have their own truth, after a really long war where the two parts implicated have lost so much, its a huge step to get to an agreement; even when it seems unfair for some, we need to remember that the law pretends to benefict both parts in the same way. Both parts got to take a big risk and that´s the main obstacle to practice pharresia, pride and resentment. Ofcourse truth in this case represents a disaventage for one of the parts.

  4. Talking about political issues is very complicated, politicians usually do not tell the truth, so I think the best we can do is wait and see if Duque will be a good president who really cares about the country.

  5. in politics i think that the truth is never told completly, with duque is even harder because of his support with uribe, but i think that the country has to wait and see if what he said is going to be truth or if it was just a political game

  6. Its true! Every single citizen and politician, has a different point of view about the conflict and also include the perspective of peace. Many persons during the conflict have been affected : physically, emotionally and cultural ways, for that reason they are very sensibles if the politicians used the pharresia , because if they said all the truth it maybe cause negatives feeling against politicians , so they omit the truth .

  7. I think Duque is going to do everything that Uribe says. People who vote for him, did it because of Uribe, without him maybe Duque never would be recognized nor be president.

  8. I think the most important point to highlight here is the one you're talking about there. it is supremely important that if they are going to restructure the agreement, they will be done because they are truly better and not just uribe's orders to "destroy the agreement"
